It is my belief, we all want to be happier, healthier and able to handle what life throws in our path, yes? So, what gets in the way of us being this more often? Could it be, stress? Stress is a big umbrella we place things in. It happens so automatically that we don’t notice the impact it has on us, until we visit the doctor’s office.
Stress is caused by our emotional reactions to things! We can learn to increase our capacity to “handle” our emotions in a healthier way, one that does not take a toll on your body, brain, or relationships!
This is increasing rapidly in our lives these days. It is natural as we are meant to survive and go into survival mode. Our response to this makes a difference in bringing our best self to a situation or not. We have the power to make a difference in how our bodies respond. The body responds to what happens when something we care about is at stake. It happens in the body when we can’t digest and assimilate what is happening in the moment. So, it is a natural response, it has Intelligence.
So what is at stake for you in the moment? Getting to work on time, the kids, finances, your health, job security, the future, what is happening in the world, politics? Each time you allow these thoughts/feelings to run you, you are downloading over 1,400 biochemical reactions that will either renew you or drain your energy.
The beauty is that we have a choice to let it run, or stop it when it is happening. If we don’t intentionally turn it off, it runs and this is what ages us and does not allow our bodies to heal. We need a tool in the moment to reboot
Having been in the “healing arts” for over 35 years and working with thousands of people I realized that what caused them the “body issues” was a cascade of biochemical reactions from their “perceptions” or thoughts and emotions to the events life was handing to them.
