Perceptions, responses = outcomes

unitingworld_logo_rgb_centredSo, we are the day after the election.  For those of us who are Trump supporters, we may be  feeling happy, content, and grateful.  For those of us who are Hillary supporters, we may be feeling disappointment, sadness, anxiety or grief.  Whatever it is we are experiencing we need to just be with it.

One thing one of my mentors has taught me, is a formula that I use to build my own awareness of what is happening.  It is Event (which is just the fact, in this case Donald Trump as President), plus my perception of this event, also my reaction to this perception, determines the outcome for me personally.  We can also take this globally, since we are all experiencing the event.

The outcome of this election is not determined by who won, it is determined by our perceptions to that and our responses to it, collectively!  Pause and notice your current responses are, where do you go emotionally, mentally and physically.  This is a Collective Event, in the sense the whole world was watching.  And if we buy into the story of being a world power…it influences other countries as well

Collective events occurring create a group entrainment.  This can be positive or negative see each of our personal experiences are not just our personal experiences, it becomes bigger than just us. I am not the only one feeling/experiencing this.  You are part of the collective movement of energy.  This may help us take the significance out of it just a little.

Last night, I noticed Tim and I get into an argument, which seemed bigger than what it should have been.  He walked away, his way of dealing with conflict;-)  I felt some anger and hurt.  In the morning we sat and talked about falling into the collective field of polarities, between connection, separation, fear, anxiety , being abandoned, love and acceptance.  In this moment, we were able to come back together, into our own hearts and acknowledge the trance that had happened.  Falling back into default patterns of separation that can cause so much suffering in each of us.

For many of us, we can fall back into default patterns, this is just our human experience when we feel threatened.  It is not wrong.  We live in a collective field.  We are not above this.  It would be like assuming if I stand in the rain, I would not get wet.  The pull of entrainment is strong.

This election was a divisive one for sure.  It truly popped the deepest darkest shadow that America holds.  One that has been there, but hiding, this election process brought it all out into the Light.

Some are afraid of our liberties being taken away.  I listened to many  concerned about racism, civil rights for women, minorities, immigrants, LGBT and many other rights.  Some are so happy that we will have guns, overturn healthcare, put up borders to keep “us” safe.  Whatever your position is, we have all allowed this to happen.  We have not payed attention to what was bubbling up for many many years.  I must own my part here for sure.  I would say or think, oh I don’t do politics, or let others figure it out, or I am a spiritual being and if I stay with that I can transcend it all.  Yeah well, guess what?

Now is not the time to blame, for we all must own our part in this.  We must find a way for truth and reconcilation.  We all LOVE this country that is what we all can acknowledge and agree upon.  Lisa Rankin wrote: “Rather than dividing and hating one another, we must humble ourselves before each other and ask, ‘tell me what hurts’.  We must generously listen, heart to heart, soul to soul.  We must be willing to apologize and make amends.  We must create a world where both sides can be heard and creative solutions can be intuited, from the heart'”.

So my invitation to you and to myself, is to go right now into my own heart, breathing in ease, a feeling of neutral.  To take the significance out of it (the story I am telling myself) so I can have the space of neutrality.  This space hold the bigger “I don’t know”, because the fact of the matter is, we don’t know how all of this will play out.

The more fear I transmit into the field, the more I add to the collective fear…the more Love I transmit into the field, the more I will add to Love being expressed and felt.   So the choice is yours as well as mine.      What will I contribute this moment, this day to the well being of us all?  Can you shift your perception to impact your response to have a different outcome for us all?

I vote for Love, it is a time for a major LOVE OFFENSIVE!
